Proposed by the department of motor and sports sciences, the classes 1A, 1C and 1E of the Campanella classical high school concluded the “School water gym” project with great success and excellent results.

“Sport has significant educational value, it is a container of positive values, it is a fertile ground for loyalty and friendship, a training ground for human growth”, these are the words of Director Carmen Lucisano.

The project took place from 20 to 23 May 2024 at the “Falkensteiner” facility in Pizzo Calabro.
The students were accompanied by teachers Valeria Malavenda and Ernesta Puliatti.

Numerous sporting activities are carried out: tennis, padel, five-a-side football, hockey, beach volleyball, table tennis, shooting, archery, orienteering, scuba diving, diving, swimming, freediving, scuba diving, sailing, canoeing and SUP .

The project showed a strong interdisciplinary character and facilitated the relationship between teachers and students outside the classic canons.

Among the many transversal objectives: the development of the spirit of cooperation, self-discipline, sense of responsibility and ability to choose; education in solidarity, respect for oneself, others and the environment; the strengthening of the general, conditional and coordinative motor qualities of the students; competitive sports comparison and self-evaluation.

With the “School water gym” project, the students had the opportunity to develop specific skills and competences based on the multiple disciplines practiced during the school camp.

The following students distinguished themselves in the various fields: Novella Nastasi 1A – 1st place hockey; Domenica Lionello 1A – 1st place freediving; Niccolò Frezza 1A- 1st place freediving; Ambra Veron 1C – 1st place diving; Mariasol Surace 1C – 1st place diving – 1st place freediving – 2nd place padel; Edith Versace 1A – 1st place sup – 2nd place canoe – 3rd place hockey; Paola Gregoriano 1C – 2nd place diving; Antonino Baccellieri 1A – 2nd place sup; Rebecca Vescovi 1A – 2nd place freediving; Alessia Sofi 1C – 2nd place padel; Sophie Dattola 1A – 3rd place padel; Rocco Treccosta 1C – 3rd place freediving; David Cutrupi 1A – 3rd place hockey; Federico Saraceno 1A – 3rd place padel.
