Balance reigns supreme in the first 4′ of the game with the two teams keeping the intensity high by responding blow for blow (8-9); Vicenza gets on the scoresheet with the triple of +4, Carugate instead finds points with the clock stopped to stay in the wake and after having suffered yet another initiative from the Venetians, takes control of the reins of the match by creating a partial of 8-2 useful to lead the score at 22-19 at the end of the first quarter. The partial of 2-7 with which the second period begins helps Vicenza to set the tone and find the overtaking, but Dimensione Bagno does not want to disappoint the friendly public, so it responds with a counter break which brings it to 36-28 and forces the Velcofin Interlocks to call a time-out; coming out of the short break, the guests connect with the bomb of -5, Carugate, however, still has the momentum of the match and with seven consecutive points closes the first half ahead 43-31. The guests immediately carried out the comeback mission and in the following six minutes they inflicted a terrifying partial score of 2-15 which allowed them to overtake; Dimensione Bagno tries to regain control of the game by taking the lead twice and canceling the baskets of the Venetians, who however connect at the buzzer with the triple of 50-52 which ends the half hour of play. The Lombards return from the break with the equalizing basket after a few seconds of the fourth period, Vicenza creates a break of 0-5 to re-establish the hierarchies, but this is canceled out by five points in a row from Carugate which keeps the contest in balance; after the Velcofin Interlocks basket, the hosts tore the net from behind the arc by overtaking, but the guests did not give up and returned to +1 forty seconds later. A 5-0 break pushes the blue and white forward again who end up 65-67 down due to the intensity shown by the Venetians; in the last 120″ it was a total show for the Lombard team, who put six points on the scoresheet and sealed the score at the final 71-67. Dimensione Bagno Carugate brought double figures to Albanelli (19 points and 6 rebounds), Nespoli (13 points and 3 steals) and Rulli (10 points and 9 rebounds); Pellegrini’s super performance (27 points with 5/7 threes and 6 rebounds) and Peserico’s double figures (10 points with 5/5 from the field) were not enough at Velcofin Interlocks Vicenza.
