In an Instagram post published on Friday 10 May, the 2014 US Open champion portrayed in a photo in hospital announced that he had undergone surgery again on his knee and that his goal is to return to the field.
Cilic, remember, he is 35 years old having been born on 28 September 1988.

In his Instagram post Cilic writes: “Hey guys. An update from me. I have spent the last few months trying to find solutions to treat the difficulties I have with my knee.
I decided to undergo another one knee surgeryafter careful consideration and many useful advice from expert doctors”.⠀ “It seemed – continues the Croatian player – the best option to move forward and achieve full recovery.⠀My desire to still play at the highest level does not has weakened, in fact, it is stronger than ever, and I hope that this further surgery will help me getting closer to returning to the field.
This journey of mine over the last 15 months has been challenging, but I am motivated to return and I am grateful to all of you for your support throughout the journey.” A Cilic therefore who, despite the many physical problems, does not intend to end his career but aims definitely to return.
