Giulio Pellizzari drops out of the rankings. The young climber of VF Group Bardiani CSF Faizané he finished one hundred and twenty-seventh, more than fifteen minutes behind the day’s winner Pelayo Sanchez (Movistar), after an initial part of the day in which he was among the most active in breaking away.

The twenty-one year old from San Severino Marche, much sought after by the World Tour teams for next year, spoke at the Processo alla Tappa immediately after the day’s finish and explained what happened to him: “A very tough stage, I paid for my inexperience. I pushed too much at the beginning of the day and I paid the price at the end, I was done. I got too caught up in wanting to go on the run“.

However, for the young Pellizzari it becomes an opportunity to show off without pressure: “Tomorrow I won’t push too much, thinking about the Prati di Tivo stage, I know the uphill start on Saturday very well. I have now abandoned the ranking but it was not a goal“.

And what could be Pellizzari’s objective? “I want to try to do well in some mountain stages, let’s see what the stages of the third week will be like, where there are the stages best suited to me. To also understand how I will feel in the last days of a Grand Tour“.
