Max Verstappen took pole position for the 2024 Miami Grand Prix. Here is his comment on the timed session

TOas soon as the qualifications of the Miami Grand Prix 2024the sixth round of the Formula 1 season. From the beginning of the race weekend, again with the Sprint format, Max Verstappen he proved to be on another level compared to his opponents. After setting the pace in the first and only free practice session, Red Bull’s three-time world champion took first place. pole position in Shootout qualifying and then there victory in the Sprint. In the traditional timed session the Dutchman also set the best time which allowed him to start from the start first position in tomorrow’s long race.
Pthat is to say that Max Verstappen does everything conquering everything he could conquer during the race weekend in Miami, even if he still lacks the victory he could achieve tomorrow at the end of the Grand Prix which will start at 10pm. With today’s pole position, Max Verstappen reaches seven first positions in a row and at his side it will sprint, just like in the Sprint, Charles Leclerc. Behind them, however, there will be the other Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz. Red Bull certainly managed to improve the negative points that the Dutch three-time world champion had encountered during the previous sessions, allowing him to develop the perfect time attack, leaving little escape for the Maranello team’s drivers.
“We have improved the car. I don’t know why though, but every time we come here I find it difficult to have consistency with the car and with the tires on the flying lap” he declared Max Verstappen at the end of the qualifications. “It is extremely difficult to do both the first and third sectors well at the end of the lap. Putting everything together is complicated. The question was finding the right balance. From this point of view we did quite well. It wasn’t the most pleasant ride of my careerbecause of how slippery the track is, but we are on pole and that’s what matters. We are certainly more under control than the Sprint, that’s what we hoped for. We hope to be able to confirm this tomorrow. Departure? I know what we did wrong in Sprint, what I did wrong too. I will try to do what I have to do well” concluded the Red Bull driver.
