Laigueglia – Inter star Evaristo Beccalossi kicked off the thirteenth edition of “Cross-country skiing on the beach”. The recreational-sports event was organized byagency Here we are with the contribution of Bottero Ski and Municipality of Laigueglia with the support of various local and national companies to help the Airc Foundation.
Clusone’s team climbed to the top step of the podium in both the senior and junior races. At the starting line many teams from all over Italy: Clusone (BG), Ponte di Legno (BS), Serravalle Scrivia (AL), Valle Stura (CN), Pragelato (TO), Valle Pesio (CN), Valle Ellero (CN ), Valsavarenche (AO) Prali (TO), Subiaco (ROME). A truly special edition dedicated to solidarity and inclusiveness which saw the participation of the Prali Special Olympics ski club.
The races involved the teams in cross-country skiing (official teams and junior teams), biathlon, fat biking, sledging, snowshoe running. Five super champions were the setting for the event which took place in the evocative setting of the beach of the Laiguegliese seaside village: Elisa Brocard, Alessandra Merlin, Corrado Barberathe former alpine skiing champion Luca Pesando and also a young multi-medalist from Bergamo Stefano Negroni.
«An extraordinary event kissed by the sun – he commented the mayor of Laigueglia Giorgio Manfredi -. After the beach volleyball tournament, Laigueglia hosted a national event. Tomorrow we will host the trail dedicated to Marco Foschi. The village continues to be the capital of the outdoors and this fills us with pride.”
«This year’s edition – recalled Marco Doctor, the organizer – was a truly special edition: it will establish the twinning with another event “Between sea and sky”, the Marco Foschi trail memorial scheduled for Sunday 5 May, again in Laigueglia. There will also be no shortage of curiosities and news, starting with the partnership with the newspaper “Fondo Italia””.
The day was also an opportunity to raise funds for the AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research which saw the collaboration of Rossignol, Dynastar, Lange, Leki, Galup, Olio Raineri, Incantesimo Design, AV insegna, Acquario di Genova, Valle Pesio Servizi, Qui Laigueglia, Vivaio Montina. The whole day was broadcast live on social media on the Tgevents Television channels and on the Radiojasper.it web radio.
