Piacenza Rugby has written a glorious page in its history, completing a feat that
will remain imprinted in the hearts of fans for years to come. After eight years of waiting, the return to Serie A is finally a reality for the red and whites, and they do so by dominating the championship far and wide and with a round to spare.

“The path towards promotion was characterized by a series of extraordinary successes which confirmed the superiority of the team” underline the managers. With 21 victories out of as many matches played, 101 points in the standings, 136 tries scored by 27 different players and an impressive points difference (635), Piacenza has achieved results that smell like records.

Coach Grangetto’s boys also laid down the law in Recco, in a meeting that, if you saw them
managing a first half with the handbrake on, in the second half they asserted their role
leaders by imposing their game and scoring a total of six tries.

The president of the company, Daniele Boccuni, does not hide his satisfaction with the result
achieved, underlining the hard work and determination that led to the victory.
“A work that began a few years ago and which led to the achievement of this extraordinary result
result. The team is solid, has full awareness of its capabilities, and I am convinced that
will be able to assert itself in the new category too” he said.

Grangetto himself highlights the importance of teamwork, sacrifice and enthusiasm that characterized every phase of the season: “From the outside it all seemed easy but that’s not the case. Each player was fundamental in contributing to the team’s triumph. We immediately saw the enthusiasm and strength of the group, supported by a fighting spirit that led us to this beautiful goal.”

The promotion was built game by game, taking into account the collective effort of all staff members and players. From the old glories who were part of the team ten years ago, to the new talents coming from Serie C and from the youth team, each individual has played a fundamental role in the success of Piacenza Rugby.

“Today’s team is very strong – comments Sandro Pagani, defense coach – it started with the
favor of the prediction, even overcoming the few difficulties encountered along the way. I’m proud of these guys!”

“And so, with a series of consecutive victories that have captured the attention of all rugby fans, Piacenza has signed its return to Serie A with a performance that will remain etched in the memory of all those who have followed the team in this extraordinary ride towards success” conclude the managers.

The next match, against Lecco, could just be a formality to defend
unbeaten season, but for the fans it will be the perfect opportunity to celebrate together with their own
heroes this historic promotion.
