The Piedmontese libero, born in 1990, Francesca Parlangeli will be in charge of the yellow-blue second line next season. Born in Turin to a mother and father from Puglia, therefore with a half Piedmontese and half Apulian heart, Francesca grew up in Orbassano (Turin) and attended schools and the scientific technological high school and then graduated in Herbal Techniques (a branch of Pharmacy, ed.) at the University of Turin in the Savigliano branch. She began playing volleyball at a very young age, supported by her father Antonio who, together with friends, ran a sports club in the town, in which Francesca actually played in all categories, with her days divided between home (study) and the gym (volleyball). ). “I really like nature and so when I have free time I like to walk in the mountains, or go to the lake or the sea, even alone and maybe bring my reflex camera: another of my passions is taking photographs, especially landscape ones – he says the new gialloblù libero -. In the summer I also like to play beach volleyball and padel, to keep fit and have fun with friends. I also like visiting new places, from the villages of Italy to the rest of the world. I would like to both go on walks and start traveling outside of Europe in the near future.” Francesca then focuses on her career. “Choosing a single best moment of my career is difficult. Every year and every season leaves you something, some ideas for growth or some lessons to carry in your personal baggage. The two promotions from A2 to A1 were certainly two magical seasons (the first with Brescia and the second with Trento, ed.). Even the debut in A1 in Novara (I made my debut right in the place where I saw an A1 match for the first time), or the match in Santo Stefano in Conegliano in my first A1 season and also the year in France, this in particular he left me a lot on a human level. Getting out of your comfort zone and having to make do in the gym but also in everyday life has made me grow a lot. I have collected individual awards, mostly ‘best libero’ in some youth tournaments, as well as some awards from the Municipality of Orbassano. Certainly recognition on a personal level is a source of pride, but I think a lot about the strength of the group and being a team sport, the difference is made and will always be made by the team and teamwork.”

How did the contact with the Esperia reality come about?

“It all started with the coach Marco Zanelli with whom I worked for years in Brescia. I have deep respect for his skill and professionalism and, after a complicated year, I wanted to get back into the game and aspire to new goals by working well and in a serene manner. Subsequently, even with the club that called me, I received a strong enthusiasm in being able to work with me.”

What goals do you have for the new sporting year?
“I’m used to working towards daily micro objectives, because proceeding step by step will show you the way and lead you to achieving macro objectives. On a personal level, I hope to rediscover the serenity and my strong enthusiasm for being in the gym and being able to make my contribution, not only on an experience level but also on a human level. As far as the team is concerned, first of all getting to know each other and working to create a cohesive group, in my opinion this can make the difference in a marathon season of A2″.

The new bastion of the second line will wear the number 10 shirt. “For years I have been playing with the number 10 because as a child I had two great idols who wore the number 10, Paola Cardullo and Alessandro Del Piero. Since then, if I can, I haven’t given up on him. Greetings to all of you Gialloblù fans, waiting to meet us, for now have a good summer!”
