Giro-E, the Tirano-Livigno stage on Sunday

The sixth edition of the Giro-E, the acclaimed “pink race” dedicated to pedal-assisted bicycles, is preparing to experience one of the key moments of its route: the Tirano-Livigno stage, scheduled for Sunday 19th. This event, which will anticipate of a few hours the passage of the Giro d’Italia promises spectacle and competitive commitment along one of the most demanding routes of the competition. The protagonists of this exciting challenge will start from the picturesque Marinoni square in Tirano, cross the Sentiero Valtellina and then face the climb towards Alta Valtellina, finally climbing the Foscagno and Eira Passes, to reach the finish line located at 2,385 meters on the Mottolino in Livigno. An epic stage almost 70 km long with a difference in altitude of 2,300 metres, which provides challenges and breathtaking landscapes. The Giro-E, born in 2019 as a pioneering event in the cycling scene, stands out for its strong commitment to environmental sustainability and the green economy.

Green Fun Village

In Tirano, the Green Fun Village Continental will liven up the start, offering space not only to commercial partners but also to local businesses in the area and to educational initiatives such as BiciScuola, promoted by RCS Sport to involve young students. Among the participants in the Tirano-Livigno stage is also the actor and philanthropist Paolo Kessisoglu, who by pedaling will support his non-profit organization “C’è da fare” with voluntary donations. Furthermore, there will be the participation of famous former professionals, such as Gianni Bugno, Igor Astarloa, Damiano Cunego and Andrea Tafi, as well as two figures loved by fans: Claudio “El Diablo” Chiappucci and the skier Giorgio Rocca. From 9.00am Green Fun Village in Piazza delle Stazioni, Viale Mazzini and Via Roma, with the presentation of the teams, games and entertainment for everyone; 11.50 am stage departure from Piazza Marinoni, bank side; the athletes will proceed along the Sentiero Valtellina towards Alta Valtellina; 1.50 pm the Giro d’Italia caravan will arrive in Piazza Marinoni with entertainment for the little ones.
