ROME – Nothing to dothe Lega Serie A did not accept Roma’s request to play the injury time against Udinese in May. The vote of the Italian championship clubs has in fact decreed that the Giallorossi club will not be able to take the field at the Bluenergy Arena in less than a month (15 May would have been the most appropriate date), but rather in a week, on April 25th. A date that Roma did not like for more than one reason and for which last night they sent a letter addressed to the League, in this case to Casini, De Siervo and Butti. The first reason was naturally linked to the Europa League. In fact, playing on April 25th, on a Thursday, Roma will have to move the match against Napoli from Saturday to Sundayand will therefore have one less day of rest and preparation for the semi-final on May 2nd. Plus the Bayer Leverkusen instead he will play his championship match (which he has already won by the way) on Saturday, therefore will benefit from extra help to try to win the first of the two matches against the Giallorossi.
The clubs that voted against the recovery
But in the letter from Rome to the League it was also required to be able to play at the same time as the recovery of Atalanta-Fiorentina, proving the integrity of the competition. The League said no after the vote of the Serie A clubs who decided to refuse recovery in May: decisive according to what filters, the votes of Verona, Atalanta and Empoli. Other clubs have instead decided to refrain.
Roma’s disappointment
Roma’s disappointment was inevitable which reached the semi-finals of a European competition for the fourth consecutive time which were decisive in the growth of the UEFA ranking which then benefited the entire Italian football organisation. The club did not feel protected despite having carried on the Serie A coat of arms thanks to the results achieved so far in Europe.
