Inter, no to the Scudetto on the sofa: the League is studying a plan B for the post-derby day

MILAN – Prevent Inter from winning the scudetto on the sofa, watching other people’s games. This is the spirit with which the Serie A League is studying the calendar for the 34th matchday. If Inter beat Milan in the 33rd minute, the championship will be awarded to the Nerazzurri before 11pm next Monday, at the end of the derby. And then there will be no problems. However, if Inter were to lose or draw, it will be important to ensure that the Nerazzurri can determine their destiny on the pitch on the following day. Based on this requirement, the times of the two matches will be established on which – in case Inter do not win the derby – the fate of this Serie A will depend: Inter-Turin and Juventus-Milan, both scheduled for the weekend of the 27th and 28th April.

No bus open after the derby

Another open topic is that of the championship celebration. If Inter win the derby at Milan’s home on Monday 22 April, for traffic and safety reasons the players’ triumphal tour on the open bus will not be scheduled for the same evening. The lap of honor through the streets of the city will be done, but on the following day, Tuesday 23rd. If instead the victory were to arrive at the end of the 34th matchday, after Inter-Torino, in an almost entirely Nerazzurri San Siro stadium, the open-top bus travel through the streets of Milan will be organized immediately. The Italian champions’ cup will be awarded to Inter at the end of the match against Lazio at the Meazza, on the fourth weekend of May. For the rest, both the club and the curve are organizing parties, marches and musical shows, which will continue until at least the first week of June.
