HERE ARE THE 20 TEAMS REGISTERED FOR THE 87TH EDITION

A few days laterThe long-awaited return of the Giro della Romagnaa historic race for Italian and international professional cycling, which returns after 13 years of absence from the calendar.

20 teams are expected at the start of the 87th Giro della Romagna, which on Sunday 21 April will start from Lugo (Ra), where the historic organizing company SC Francesco Baracca di Lugo is based, to end in Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole (Fc).

The race sees the technical organization of ExtraGirowith the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region – Sport Valley, the Municipality of Lugo, the Municipality of Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole and with the collaboration of SC Francesco Baracca of Lugo and Oliviero Gallegati of the Somec Biciclette company.

In the roll of honor of the Giro della Romagna, the first edition of which was held in 1910, there are champions such as Costante Girardengo, Alfredo Binda, Learco Guerra, Fiorenzo Magni, Gianni Motta, Felice Gimondi and Giuseppe Saronni, as well as the Romagna Vito Ortelli, Giuseppe Minardi, Ercole Baldini, Davide Cassani, Roberto Conti and Eddy Serri.

After starting from Piazza Baracca/Corso Matteotti in Lugo (unofficial at 10.50, official at 11), the 87th Giro della Romagna will cover 129 flat routes, passing through numerous municipalities affected by the flood in May 2023, before entering 67 km from the conclusion in the final circuit of 12.5 km in Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole, to be covered for 5 laps, with the presence of the Bagnolo GPM, a 3.7 km climb with an average gradient of 5.7%. The last of the five transits to the top of Bagnolo will be 11 km from the finish line in via Marconi in Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole.
The Giro della Romagna is also a stage leading up to the Grand Départ of the Grande Boucle from Italy, in the same month in which L’Etape Parma by Tour de France is also scheduled, an appointment for cycle tourists, amateur cyclists and families which takes place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28 April
