Once the passage to the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup has been archived, it is already time for the Lions to dedicate themselves to returning to the championship. Gianmarcohow much enthusiasm is there within the group after the last victory against Connacht?
“We are all very enthusiastic and happy because for us it was important to win and move forward in the Challenge Cup. Now we need to be focused on the next championship match, every match will be important for us”.
Now we go back to thinking about the championship. How should you approach the next race?
“In reality, little changes for the situation we find ourselves in in the championship. We are many teams very close in the standings, just a few points apart. Our goal is to aspire to a place tIt’s the first eight and we know that every match will be decisive. We must bring useful results every weekend if we want to achieve our goals.”
What kind of team are the Dragons?
“It is certainly a dangerous team, they have forwards who will want to put us under pressure and will want to play hard on turnovers to recover the ball. Plus they had two weeks in which they didn’t play and they took advantage of the opportunity to prepare for the match as best they could. It will be a very important commitment and it will be essential to keep focus week after week because it will be a tough period.”.
In the last three home games there have been three victories: how important is Monigo’s support for you?
“For us he is very important, he is the 16th man on the pitch. In Monigo in these last few games we have always felt an environment that pushed us a lot. We know how important it is to play at home and it’s always nice to play in front of so many families. The fans are supporting us a lot; it’s beautiful”.
