Torino Primavera, Sampdoria to return to winning ways and continue their playoff run

Tomorrow Torino Primavera challenges Sampdoria to get back up after the derby and continue the race towards the final stages

Once the derby is over, Sampdoria and two other matches remain to know their fate. Torino Primavera is on the eve of the third to last match of the championship and still has one race to participate in, the most demanding but also potentially the most rewarding: access to the Scudetto poule. The Granata want to play their cards and to do so the first call is against Sampdoria, with the Blucerchiati showing up tomorrow – Monday 6 May, 5pm – in Orbassano to challenge Scurto’s Toro.

Torino Primavera, many absences against Sampdoria but three points are needed

Torino and Sampdoria clash at a time when scoring points is vital for both, even though the standing requirements are different. The Granata want a place in the final phase to participate in the championship fight; the Blucerchiati, on the other hand, have to defend themselves against Frosinone to avoid relegation in Primavera 2, being second to last with a margin of only three points over the Ciociari. So for Toro it is a challenge that should absolutely not be taken lightly, but instead used to its advantage to turn the page after the derby. The Granata had already done it after the heavy defeat against Fiorentina, returning to win against Frosinone; now against Sampdoria the spirit must be the same. However, Scurto will have to deal with the absences, to which must be added three of no small importance: Savva, Dellavalle and Padula. The Cypriot was sanctioned with a two-match ban after the tension with Boufandar at the end of the derby; captain Dellavalle and Padula will only miss Sampdoria, serving the scheduled stoppage after the yellow cards against Juventus. Therefore Toro will not have three starters, but will still be called to make a virtue of necessity. On the other hand, the Blucerchiati will also arrive in Orbassano without top scorer Alesi (6 goals to his credit) and without central defender D’Amore.

Primavera, Torino sixth and called to defend themselves: the situation for the playoffs

Torino Primavera will have the advantage of taking to the pitch already knowing the weekend results of their direct opponents for the playoff race, Sassuolo and Milan. After the derby, the Granata had risked falling out of the top 6 but breathed a sigh of relief when Milan surprisingly fell in injury time against Bologna on May 1st. On the eve of the 32nd matchday, Sassuolo and Torino are still tied at 48 points (with the neroverdi virtually ahead in the head-to-head calculation), Milan are trailing at 46 in seventh place. The gap is narrow, so neither Neroverdi nor Granata can rest assured. Winning is an imperative for all three, on the pitch on Monday 6 May. First there will be Empoli-Sassuolo at 1pm, then Lecce-Milan at 3pm and finally Torino-Sampdoria at 5pm.
