The ranking without refereeing errors, 32nd day: two important matches distorted
Descriptive text here

How would Serie A end without refereeing errors? There is no shortage of controversy even on the thirty-second day: discover the most penalized teams and those with the most “help”.

Refereeing errors continue and unfortunately there is an increase in matches affected by whistle blowers: if at the start of the championship the average was one match per round, for a few weeks it has risen steadily to two. Even on the 32nd matchday, for example, there were two matches significantly marked by referee and VAR messes. We see how the league table changes without refereeing errors in Serie A, updated to the thirteenth return.

Referees, the distorted matches of the 32nd round

The two distorted matches of the round are Inter-Cagliari and Fiorentina-Genoa. In the match at San Siro the rossoblu’s equalizer in the final should have been cancelled: Lapadula’s arm movement before Viola’s winning shot is more than suspicious, but neither referee Fourneau nor Di Bello intervened in the VAR room. Another match decisively affected by oversights is Fiorentina-Genoa. In the final, a seemingly sunny penalty was missing in favor of Viola due to a handball by Haps in the penalty area, but the debutant referee Di Marco and above all the VAR expert Mazzoleni inexplicably did not intervene.

Doubts and protests also in the other races

Errors also in the other matches, but not decisive. Doubts about Duvan Zapata’s blow to Gatti in the derby between Turin and Juventusreferee Maresca and VAR take no action. There are also suspicions about a kick by Mario Rui to Zortea in Napoli-Frosinone: the Portuguese will be sent off, but only several minutes later. There was also a bit of confusion in Lecce-Empoli and Sassuolo-Milan, where however there were no decisive errors on the part of the respective match directors, Mariani and Massa. The last protest was that of Atalanta for a possible foul by the Veronese Cabal on Miranchuk, but referee Sacchi rightly let it continue.

THE RULES

This ranking is drawn up on the basis of what happens on the pitch, during decisive episodes which can directly determine the result, such as goals validated or disallowed, penalties awarded or not awarded, an exaggerated or unfair expulsion many minutes from the conclusion of the match. Variables that are not directly decisive are not considered, such as yellow cards, real or presumed fouls that occurred in the action preceding the one that led to a goal, a disputed expulsion in the Cesarini area, etc. In the event of a tie on points between two or more teams, the team that has suffered the most penalties during the championship is rewarded.
