Morolo prepares to go to the hole. With a magnificent shot worthy of a hole in one the hole hit in one shot in a game of golf. The small Ciociaria town was chosen by the association Teerock Golf Club: with its one hundred members it is ready to invest to create a driving range. Things? It is a practice area where you can practice long shots, approaches or putt on a specially designed green to refine the technique, perhaps with the help of a professional.
The project will be presented on Wednesday afternoon from 5pm in the municipal auditorium. There the association will meet the citizens and above all the owners of the land where the driving range will be built.
The project
The project is anticipated Gerardo Magale, former director of Marangoni di Anagni. “We are over one hundred members, all passionate about golf. We have created this project that provides a golf driving range in an area of 21 hectares. This is the area that from behind the dairy it reaches the border with the sports field on the ground and is perfectly integrated with the sports area envisaged in the current Master Plan”.
No burden borne by the Municipality, investment entirely borne by private individuals. A course in competition with the famous one in Fiuggi? Absolutely not. If anything, complementary. Morolo would not be a real golf course but on the driving range with four holes which is also lit in the evening to give everyone the opportunity to participate.
“We want to meet the citizens – says Megale – in particular the land owners to explain the project. We do not intend to purchase the land at all costs, renting is also fine for us, we do not intend to engage in any speculation”.
The interesting thing about the project is that it goes to integrate perfectly into the existing sports area with the municipal stadium, the clay field, the municipal swimming pool, the outdoor gym and the public park.
The cost? A few hundred thousand euros. Citizens permitting.
