Roberto Vannacci must have thought it a perfect assist from the Democratic Party, which launched the “Ignore him” campaign on social media against the League’s candidate for the next European elections, after his proposal to create separate classes for disabled students. “Luckily the Democratic Party has already prepared the t-shirt for me: thank goodness they use the armochromist…”, writes the general on Instagram who even had a t-shirt made with the dem campaign. On the shirt there is the print taken from the Instagram stories of Elly Schlein’s party profile, with the general’s large face clearly visible, covered by the block letters “Ignore him” and the hashtag “IgnoreVannacci”.
Launched on social media last April 27, the Democratic Party’s social campaign to ignore the general has so far attracted record numbers. On X alone the post obtained over 700 thousand views and over 800 shares, from those who evidently wanted to ignore Vannacci by relaunching his photo and his name. Not to mention the visibility obtained from the post on Facebook, with a river of reactions and comments from those who spoke out about the League’s candidate, in a clear attempt to ignore him. On «L’aria che tira» on La7, in today’s episode 29 April, David Parenzo experienced a bit of difficulty when he asked the dem secretary how to talk about it given that the invitation was to ignore Vannacci. However, Schlein made no comment on the campaign: «To any bestiality that comes from those words, we will respond with more social justice, more equality, more rights for people… but it still seems to me to be a move of desperation by Salvini».
