Management of the Andria cemetery, Action’s doubts about the proposed resolution

“Radical changes since 1 June 2024 in the management of Andria cemetery and gods cemetery services afferents. “In fact, both the attached preliminary investigation report of the Manager and the 2024/2029 Economic Plan for the management of cemetery services proposed by Multiservice Spaas well as the special performance specifications drawn up by the latter, in addition to the entrusting of the management of current and auxiliary activities to Multiservice Spa, provide for the presence of a candidate private economic operator to a Public Private Partnership with the Municipality of Andria for the expansion, modernization and concession of the Municipal Cemetery through a project financing proposal aimed at the construction of new noble chapels and the Crematorium Temple” – added the two representatives of Action who then concluded:

“With suppressive and substitutive amendments, however, the synergy with the private entity is totally eliminated to which explicit reference is made not only in the resolution, but above all in the annexes described above and which constitutes an integral and fundamental part of the same. At this point it is clear that the best solution would be precisely that of withdraw the proposed resolution, reformulate it in a complete manner and resubmit it for examination and approval by the City Council, reworking the annexes and, in particular, drawing up the Special Performance Specifications without any synergistic reference to the partnership with the private sector. Otherwise, leave the text of the resolution intact as proposed. Finally, we take the liberty of suggesting to the Bruno Administration not to overlook in its deliberations some fundamental aspects for better management of the Andria Cemetery (such as, for example, the ancient and fundamental relationship with the Archconfraternities), as well as explaining more clearly some essential aspects and, in particular, the parameters used in the payment decision in favor of the Municipality of Andria di a concession fee equal to only 1% of the total production value” – Nespoli and Grumo concluded (Action).
