RUGBY FLAG @ SCHOOL – Promoting Play and Inclusion: this is the object of the Training Course which was held on Saturday 16 March at the “Carlo Mazzoni” Sports Center, home of the Piacenza Rugby Club. The initiative was organized by the Physical Education Office of Piacenza in collaboration with the Fir Provincial Committee and aimed at teachers of physical education, physical education, motor sciences and support of primary and secondary schools of I and II level of Piacenza and the province. The training course, held by Federico Grangetto, Head Coach of Piacenza Rugby, provided teachers with a concrete and effective methodological tool to promote the inclusive culture of physical, motor and sports education through Flag Rugby. Flag Rugby is accessible to everyone, this is the cornerstone of the training: Flag Rugby can be practiced by all students, regardless of their physical abilities or motor skills. The objectives of the training are also clear: to develop ideal proposals for the school through group work and the development of operational proposals. Promote sporting values: Flag Rugby was used to enhance loyalty, respect and collaboration between students, thus promoting sporting values in competition. Enhance the potential of students: acquire skills to identify and enhance students’ abilities and skills, creating a learning environment that enhances the contribution of each individual. Particular thanks go to Fiorenzo Zani, coordinator of the Physical Education Office of Piacenza, for the impeccable organization of the event and to the Sports Councilor Mario Dadati for his intervention and his important contribution. In conclusion, Flag Rugby confirms itself not only as a fun sport, but also as a powerful vehicle available to teachers to promote the fundamental values of sport.
