A week ago Jannik Sinner met Luciano’s national team Spalletti, the coach and all the players, in a particular location like the Miami Stadium where Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami plays. Jannik’s smiles and hugs with Spalletti and Gigi Buffon went around the web and the tennis player, just a few days after his debut at the Miami Open, stopped for a chat with the team.
The Italian number one has been able to establish a very particular circle of friends in recent times. One of these is Gianluigi Donnarummagoalkeeper for Italy and Paris Saint Germain, who shares a great passion for video games with the South Tyrolean tennis player.
The reigning champion at the Australian Open confessed to the Tennis Channel a nice anecdote about the two friends:
“Donnarumma and I are always in contact”
“I am a friend of Gianluigi and sometimes we played Call of Duty (online war game) together.
A little less now, but we have always been in contact. He’s a really good guy”, Then regarding his close encounter with Spalletti’s national team he added another wish for him: “I spoke to the players, it was nice and Spalletti was very kind.
We’re talking about an incredible experience, something different than tennis. Nice to be in other sporting environments like football. When I have the chance I would like to see an NBA game.”. A few days ago Jannik said this about his particular feeling with Spalletti: “Well, we look alike.
We managed, or at least I’m trying, to do something beautiful and it’s not about winning or losing, but about exciting new people, both kids and adults. People have been becoming passionate about tennis for a few years now, I’m thinking of Fognini’s victory in Monte Carlo and also with Berrettini and the Wimbledon final. I’m trying to do mine” he concluded.
