- The Journey of the Olympic Flame stopped today 27 December at the Pomigliano d’Arco plant, where Alfa Romeo produces the C-SUV Tonale.
- Pomigliano d’Arco is one of the symbolic places of the country’s manufacturing excellence and together with the production plants in Melfi, Modena and Turin it represents a crucial stage in the symbolic journey of the Olympic Flame from Rome to Milan.
- Alfa Romeo is the Official Partner of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Flame Journey, and supports the convoy by making the Stelvio, Tonale and Junior available.
The Olympic Flame is the symbol par excellence of the Olympics. Starting from Rome on 6 December, it will cross over 300 Italian municipalities on a symbolic and evocative journey towards the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, bringing with it a spirit of unity, inclusion and sharing of Olympic values.
A continuous movement that unites people and places, bringing passion, excellence and inclusion even far from the official venues of the Games, and transforming every kilometer traveled into part of the history of Milano Cortina 2026.
Today, 27 December, the convoy stopped at the Pomigliano d’Arco plant, symbol of manufacturing excellence and production site of the Alfa Romeo Tonale C-SUV.
Alfa Romeo is indeed Official Partner of the Journey of the Olympic Flame and shares the essential values of passion, sportiness and technology that it wanted to celebrate with an edition of Junior and Tonale dedicated to the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics with exclusive equipment, specific exterior and interior looks at the top of the range with targeted interventions to further increase its sporty character and the charm of a recognizably Alfa Romeo design.
The passage of the Fiamma represented an opportunity for Alfa Romeo to involve employees and their families. In fact, a selection of plant employees ran and transported the Flame through the production site between moments of entertainment dedicated to those present. An exceptional Torchbearer will do the honors, Stefania Belmondo former Italian cross-country skier and one of the most successful athletes in the history of the discipline, with ten Olympic medals and thirteen world championships. Stefania Belmondo has totaled 24 victories in World Cup races which make her the most successful Italian ever on the world circuit. The 10 Olympic medals won in her career make her the second most medal-winning Italian female athlete in Olympic history. The former athlete inaugurated and concluded the event by bringing his personal testimony and sharing the emotion of representing the Olympic spirit with the plant’s employees.
As Automotive Premium Partner of Milano Cortina 2026, the Italian brands of Stellantis Alfa Romeo, FIAT, Lancia and Maserati will make around 3,000 vehicles available at Milano Cortina 2026 – over half electrified – to support athletes, volunteers, staff and federations.
