Waiting means compromising a rebirth that belongs to the whole of Italy and reflects a new strategic positioning in the world of global capital. It is no longer conceivable to postpone the end of the long season of irresponsibility of Regions and Ministries. We repeat it today as we talk about Naples’ new record as a conference city and document the real causes that led to the resolved emergency in Capri without water.
If the South has been achieving growth above the national average for four years now, starting from a gigantic competitive infrastructural disadvantage, it is no longer tolerable that attempts are made to hinder the application of the new Fitto method which has been approved and praised in Europe and wants to give Italy back the ability to make productive expenditure in large networks, starting from water, in accelerated and certain times.
Because, very simply, as Ercole Incalza observes, agri-food, tourism and logistics have as a common denominator of their supergrowth the need for a continuous and safe availability of water supply. This means that to build an essential infrastructural offer, it is necessary to carry out organic interventions aimed at the creation of reservoirs and adequate water networks in the South of the country. It should have been done for at least twenty years. It is no longer time to finance festivals and micro-projects of friends of friends, both in the center and in the territories, but rather to have in mind the strategic priorities for the development of the country and to do the things necessary to implement them within the established timescales. Using European resources, of course, to make the necessary infrastructural equalization, but even before that to guarantee Italy the full future it deserves as a new global player in the upside-down world.
