New strikes arriving. Let’s start Friday March 22 to Milanwhere the drivers and tram drivers will be crossing their arms ATM, the Milanese transport company. The protest was proclaimed by the union At Cobas as reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in the calendar dedicated to strikes. He will have provincial character and will concern exclusively Atm staff. The trains – FS Italiane, Italo and Trenord Group – they will be regular for the whole day, but will instead be at risk during the weekend all Italy. From 9pm on Saturday 23rd to 9pm on Sunday 24th, in fact, there will be national strike proclaimed by the trade unions Cub Trasporti and Sgb.
Protection time slots
During strikes there are protection time slots. In regional transport, during the strikes, Trenitalia established essential services in the busiest time slots (from 06.00 to 09.00 and give them 6.00pm to 9.00pm weekdays).
The Atm strike
It was proclaimed “against the liberalizationprivatization and tenders of the services currently managed by the ATM Group and for the reinternalization of TPL services under contract and/or subcontracting; against the project “Milan Next”for the transformation of ATM SpA into a Special Company of the Municipality of Milan and the consequent direct in-house assignment of services, as well as for their gratuitousness“.
They also protest to obtain “the reactivation of distancing between drivers and users with inhibition of the front door for boarding and alighting passengers”, to request “the cleaningsanitation and disinfection of cars and environments” and once again to claim “the protection of worker safety more exposed to aggressive acts, even with passive protection systems; for the use of holidays for traveling staff, company hiring plans and transformation of part-time contracts; For the increase of €150 net for all workers, to recover the insufficient increases in national contracts; for further corporate issues relating, among other things, to holiday pay, special shifts and clothing”.
The train strike
Instances similar to those claimed by national strike which will involve trains, called mainly due to issues relating to Health and to worker safetyworking hours, wages and compliance with the national collective agreement. The concern for the implementation of adequate measures to ensure a suitable working environment it was one of the main reasons that pushed the unions to call the strike. Furthermore, the request for fair and sustainable working hours, which takes into account the needs of employees, is a key point of discussion. But also the salary increase and the protection of the economic conditions of workers.
