The thirty-fifth edition of the «Beatles Day», the event that celebrates the Liverpool group every year, will celebrate an important anniversary: the album «A hard day’s night» turns 60.
The musical event, which has the artistic direction of Rolando and Alice Giambelli and is organized by the association Associated Beatlesians of Italywill be held atAncient Wührer Brewery in viale Bornatain Brescia (where the Beatles Museum) Sunday 9 June from 11am to 11.30pm. Two stages on which around thirty musicians and bands will take turns (among them, Joe Damiani and Marco Zappa, very faithful) who will pay homage to the Beatles with songs from the celebrated album.
«The birthday is special – says Rolando Giambelli, president of the association and director of the museum –. It’s 60 years of Beatles-mania, this album marked the beginning. From that album my life has changed like that of millions of fans».
The event will also allow you to get to know the Beatles Museum: «They have been hosting us here at the Wührer for about a year – continues Giambelli -. We make music, shows, organize guided tours for schools and exhibit our collections. Day after day visitors come to visit us.”
Every year thousands of people participate in Beatles Day: «La The event will be entirely indoors – explains Giambelli –: a stage in the museum room and one in the internal room of the brewery. Because this way we will be able to welcome everyone who comes to visit us and we won’t have to worry about the unstable weather during this period. Doing it here gives us the opportunity to meet lots of people.” For the occasion, one will be screened video presentation of «A Hard Day’s Night» by Vincenzo Mollica.
As is now tradition and following the motto «Beatle People for People», the day will also promote some associations such as Unicef, the Camillo Golgi Foundation for Medical Research and Aism – Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association. Emi Baronchelli will present the event. Entrance is free.
The program of the third edition of the “Sanremo Beatles Festival” will also be brought forward to Beatles Day, which will be held at the Ariston Theater this year in support of the Aism section of Imperia. The show will be presented by Clara Vigasio from Brescia who acted as the face for the national commercial which informs about the association.
