TRENT. From Roncogno to the conquest of Radio Deejay, Luca Baz and mountain songs were featured on the radio station founded by Claudio Cecchetto in 1982 and conducted since 1994 by Linus.

Another stop for Luca Lazzeri Zanoni, the 21-year-old who became famous on social media for relaunching Trentino and Alpine songs. An experience that began in December last year with the publication of the first video. “That evening I was in the stube with my cousin Gabriele”, explains the 21-year-old to Radio Deejay. “He was the one who convinced me to do it. At first I was very hesitant, almost scared. I wondered who might like this song. And I was afraid of being made fun of, especially by young people. In the end I published that video. It went well straight away.”

Growth and interest are constantly growing, Baz in a short time has gained almost 80 thousand followers on Instagram and about 70 thousand up TikTok. Feedback from the younger ones too.

I started this thing by pure chance and above all pure fun. In fact, I expected criticism. There are, but there are many more positive comments, especially from the younger audience. I didn’t expect this either. On TikTok the majority is a young audience, from around 16 to 35 years old. On Instagram it’s already more varied: there are also older people who willingly follow me, but also young people. There is also a female audience, but in both I would say there is a strong male majority.”

L’objective is to bring some young people to have an experience within a choir. “In recent years there has actually been a strong crisis, especially given the lack of young people. We started a workshop with the choir. About fifteen kids signed up.”

Recently Luca Baz was also the protagonist of “An hour to acclimatise”, the show of The Other Mountain organized with The Dolomites, There will be nice weather, Alto Rilievo-mountain voices And Protect our winters as part of the Trento Film Festival.

The 21-year-old had taken to the stage with Giselda Torresan, Carlo Budel And Valentina Ciprian in the event “Influencers: the mountain on Instagram“. Social media can keep traditions alive and bring “i young – Baz’s words – they contact me to say that they are part of a choir or that they would like to become part of this world. Mountain culture has a great history and a century of activity. Many are interested in this passion” (Article here).
