Sanremo 2025, Malgioglio at the Festival with Carlo Conti? “No…”

A single dedicated to the famous CR7 and the possibility of going to Sanremo: “I would say no to Carlo Conti.” As Cristiano Malgioglioreturning from ‘Amici di Maria De Filippi’ as a judge, with Adnkronos ‘explores’ his thoughts on a return to Aristonhis latest single ‘Fernando’ and his future plans. The proposal to go on stage at the Ariston had already arrived from Amadeus but, Malgioglio reveals, “I didn’t feel like it and I preferred that the choice fell on a young singer”. To Carlo, with whom Malgioglio has been working again since September ‘Such and such show’, “I would say no even though as a competitor I would have too much anxiety.” However, the artist does not completely close to the opportunity that Sanremo could offer, preferring rather a role as an author behind the scenes: “I’d rather write a song. I already have a very beautiful piece and I would like the interpreter to be Martina, the singer who came out of ‘Amici’. I think she has a beautiful voice and she would be perfect for my lyrics.”

But thereto the talented Martina she’s not the only one. “Another performer I would really like is Monica Naranjo, a Spanish singer: a gay icon with a surprising voice.” Sanremo, however, is still far away and for now there is the launch of the new single ‘Fernando’ but don’t call it a catchphrase. “It’s a word that I don’t like but I accept it if it means that it’s a piece that makes you dance and gets your blood moving.” “I am very happy with this songor. It has an edge, it’s fun and joyful and after 2 minutes you sing it in the shower”, says Malgioglio. The song is dedicated to the footballer Ronaldo, one of the many names mentioned in the song: “if he calls me I’ll leave everyone and run away from him”jokes the artist, recalling that the song is already available on all platforms and will soon also be launched in Turkish, Portuguese and Spanish versions.

After the “incredible adventure” of working with Maria De Filippi, Malgioglio looks to the future and hopes to realize another great dream: that of working with director Pedro Almodóvar. “But I hope I don’t have to wait much longer otherwise I’ll have to play the part of a great-grandmother.”
