From his latest album many years have passed in singles now: it was 2018, almost six years which for today’s music world seems almost like an eternity (and perhaps it is). In between, many silences and an album together with his close friend Mameli who in some ways went a little under the radar, with the exception of a few singles which, however, collected less than they should have and could, thanks to the radios who have demonstrated in the years of turning a blind eye to former X Factor and Friends who are no longer on the crest of the wave for obvious reasons of visibility.

This absence, however, seems to be over for one of the most beloved singers of the latest editions of X Factor. Yes, because now, perhaps, everything is starting to make sense. At least there is an explanation for this very long absence after his last single album, Bengala, which by his own admission had not done well in terms of sales. We are in fact talking about Lorenzo Fragola, perhaps one of the most interesting talents and voices to come out of talent shows in recent years but who, unfortunately, after that album which was not what everyone expected from him, closed himself in a long silence .

Yes, because if it is true that, in theory, that album didn’t have the feedback hoped, from a musical point of view that, perhaps, remains, at least in the opinion of the writer, a dark and refined pop like we haven’t heard for a long time. The public, perhaps, wanted something else from him, perhaps a new #it’s sunny outside which, however, was no longer his thing. He simply wanted to do something else, dare and succeed. An excellent production (Mace, Federico Nardelli, Dario Faini, Fabrizio Ferraguzzo) and a textual level that is certainly of a high level, which however was perhaps not understood. Sin.

Now, however, for Lorenzo Fragola a great return is ready which, hopefully, can give back to him and his general public what they have not been able to experience in recent years.

“The first reason I think is that the last album of 2018, Bengala, didn’t do very well, so I took some time to write and improve the writing, the singing and try to do something more beautiful. In the meantime I wanted to return to Sicily (….), then Covid happened and this period got longer. In all this full of things, personal and otherwise, I didn’t have as much desire as I had before. I had to rediscover it little by little and now I’m fine.”
