“I’m an Aston Martin that you drove into the ditch, then ran away”

And when to say them, or rather to sing them Taylor Swift, the undisputed queen of world showbiz, become kryptonite. Since in this case all clues point to Fernando Alonso, you immediately think of that “you mistook a Ferrari for a Twingo”, launched by Shakira against her ex-husband Piquè, in the first album after the separation.

The message, certainly not difficult to decipher, is in the latest album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’just released that has already surpassed all listening records: in the first day alone it was downloaded over 200 million times on Spotify). The song is ‘imgonnagetyouback’ (‘I’ll get you back’): “Small talk, big love, acting like I don’t care what you did, I’m an Aston Martin that you drove straight into the ditch,” sings the 34-year-old American singer-songwriter, today happily engaged to Travis KelceAmerican football star and winner of the last Super Bowl.

The reference, clearly enough, would be to Fernando Alonso: a year ago, there were many the voices which they took for granted a story between Taylor and the 42-year-old driver, after both had broken up with previous partners. Rumors never confirmed, and if there was something, it certainly didn’t end well, given the dig launched by Swift. What goes, said, in this album of pebbles from shoes against ex-boyfriends she has removed several, starting with the British actor Joe Alwyn (to whom she was linked for six years) and Matty Healy, controversial leader of the 1975.

And Aston Martin seizes the opportunity to be mentioned by the queen of the charts by posting another video: the car speeds and brakes when cornering, to the tune of “I’m an Aston Martin that you steered straight into the ditch”. Because in the end, Oscar Wilde is always right: “For better or for worse, as long as we talk about it.”
