Jennifer Lopez has two sisters, Leslie and Lynda but despite the strong chemistry between the three women, few know of their existence. The three sisters grew up in Castle Hill, a neighborhood of New York, by parents of Spanish origins, but born in Puerto Rico, from where they left in search of fortune.
His father, David Lopez, worked as a night watchman at Guardian Insurance Company before becoming a computer technician. The mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, has always been described as a tough woman: “I didn’t do it just to criticize and that’s it. It was just to show them that we could do better”, explained Guadalupe, “I know that I’m far from being the perfect mother. The only thing I can say, is that everything I did, I did with only their best interest at heart.”

The family welcomed the birth of their first daughter, Leslie, on November 20, 1967. In the meantime, the singer and actress and, two years later, her younger sister Lynda were born on June 14, 1971. The Lopezes lived in a small apartment, where all three sisters shared a bed, until the couple managed to save enough to move to a larger, three-story house in the same area. Although the author of Jenny from the block and Ai n’t your mama was introduced to singing and dancing at an early age, her parents recognized the talent of their three daughters and entered them in all kinds of competitions. “My mother taught us to be self-sufficient, to not depend on anyone, to make our own way in the world,” López said in a 2013 interview with the United Nations Foundation.

Leslie Lopez has been singing professionally since the age of 16, when she played one of the lead roles in one of her high school’s shows.
After finishing elementary school, she studied opera and theater and for many years was a leading voice at a church in the Bronx, where she grew up. She currently performs at St. Bernard’s Church in White Plains. For over 20 years she has been a teacher of the Choral Composer / Conductor Collective, a choral group of which she is a member. She also teaches at a school in Westchester, New York.
According to his biography, he acted in over fifty musicals in Westchester and the Bronx. She has also appeared on the big screen as an opera singer in Constantine Venetopoulos’ 2021 film The Man in the Attic and in a documentary directed by her son, Brendon Scholl, about how art accompanied him on his journey as a trans individual non-binary.
Lynda, the younger sister
Although her name is not well known in Spain, Lynda is an eminent figure in the North American media and, like her sister, a Latin American reference in the country. After studying Communication Studies at Long Island University, you developed a prestigious career in the media; on channels such as CBS, VH1, Fox, E! News, ABC or The Huffington Post. She currently works as a journalist in New York. In 2001 she won an Emmy Award for the morning news program WB11 Morning News, of which she was a co-anchor. In 2013, she joined her sister on television, interviewing her for the United Nations Global Mom Relay program.
