THE Pooh they were the first guests of the afternoon Sunday In and Mara Venier they told the story of their career, the great success and the songs that rightfully entered them into the Olympus of music. The group then also talked about their period of “crisis” and the departure of a particular member from the band, namely Riccardo Fogli. The musician explained why in 1973 he decided to leave his colleagues to pursue a solo career. A good part of his decision had to do with his private life: when Fogli left Pooh he was a permanent couple with Patty Pravo for whom he separated from Viola Valentino. Mara Venier listened carefully to the singer and one of her answers so entertained the studio audience that he let out applause and lots of laughter.

Retracing their history, i Pooh they remembered the period in which Riccardo Fogli undertook his solo career. The singer said: «I joined the group in 1966 and with them it was “musical love” at first sight. The success we had was incredible and everyone loved us. Then, in 1973, it came out that Nicoletta, Patty Pravo, and I had an affair. We had tried to keep everything a secret but after five or six weeks it was no longer possible. At the time, I was married to Viola Valentino who kicked me out of the house.”
At that point Mara Venier, settling better on her stool and smiling, exclaims: «And she did well». The audience burst into laughter and applauded. Roby Facchinetti added: «He confided in us, he told us everything. Then we realized that he was madly in love because from one day to the next he didn’t tell us anything anymore.”

Riccardo Fogli he then explained: «The problem arose when Nicoletta had become so important that she also began to be present in the reality of the group». Roby Facchinetti intervened by saying: «First we were a group and we did everything together but when we truly fell in love, he naturally broke away from us. So we were no longer that “All for one and one for all” band and, then, what happened happened.”
