The satisfaction it is giving us Bill Skarsgardalready in the role of a disturbing monster like the clown Pennywise of Itnow in those of the concupiscent vampire Count Orlok from the most anticipated horror film of the year, the gothic Nosferatu by Robert Eggers. The teaser recently widespread is a teadelirious railer, full of screams and blood and deafening music, which questions the origins of Evil. The remake of the horror masterpiece symbol of German film expressionism signed by FW Murnau from 1922 is the second revisiting of the silent classic after Nosferatu, the prince of the night by Werner Herzog from 1979. The director of The Witch (2015), The Lighthouse (2019) e The Northman (2022) Robert Eggers has stated that his goal is to make an authentically scary vampire tale. The trailer, in this sense, seems to prove him right: there are those who let out anguished screams and those who bite the heads off live pigeons, but the one who is in hiding is the count with the features of Skarsgård, who we barely glimpse (he can be seen in shot, during a dark and stormy night, inside the castle) and which is evidently taken away from our vision to make us wait for this work – whose debut in cinemas is expected on December 25th (because it is a truly “Christmas”) – even more convulsively.
