Off to filming, we’re starting to get serious about the Christmas film shot in Ancona which will feature the new couple Alessandro Siani and Leonardo Pieraccioni. After the first inspections last May and the crowds at the casting towards the end of the month to identify the extras in the film (it will be titled “You and I must talk”), we are now moving on to a decisive upgrade of the film project which directly involves the capital Doric. Next Monday and Tuesday, in fact, the camera will begin working outdoors in the heart of the city, its nerve center, between the squares and the main streets. In this regard, the mayor of Ancona, Daniele Silvetti, signed an ordinance – 33 of 2024 – with which he suspends the stalls of the open market in the center for the two days of filming. We are talking about the benches that usually occupy Via Castelfidardo, Corso Garibaldi and the part of Piazza Roma where the Horse Fountain is located. No stalls for two days and no alternatives for street traders given that the ordinance is clear: from 8am to 8pm the area in question will be off limits. Simply the sales activities – through the stalls in Piazza Roma on the opposite side of the square – will be suspended.
A category already affected by other ordinances, including that of last January 8th which effectively moved those in Corso Mazzini to Corso Garibaldi and Via Castelfidardo until the end of the works on the Mercato delle Erbe (by 2025, at the latest the first few months of 2026 ). The Municipality is continuously extending that alternative solution which, however, is not liked by the traders of the Corso. As for the film that will be shot in the city, for now the ordinance limits itself to imposing that measure for the first two days, June 24th and 25th, but other measures could soon arrive for the continuation of filming.
