Deadpool & Wolverine it passed the scrutiny of the Beijing commission and obtained a release date in China at the same time as the US distribution, the July 26.
This is a first for the franchise: Deadpool in 2016 it was blocked due to violence, while Deadpool 2 it arrived only months later in the “sweetened” version suitable for minors known as Once Upon a Deadpool. This version in China earned 42 million dollars, making it the largest share of the worldwide gross of 51 million dollars.
At the moment it is not clear whether, as expected, the Chinese version of Deadpool & Wolverine will be censored, but internal sources claim that “the cuts will not alter the integrity of the narrative and the spirit of Deadpool“.
