Inside Out 2 is already box office records in several countries, and ours will probably not be far behind: we still have to wait a few more days to find out how it will be received in Italy. There is no doubt, however, about the duration of the new Disney Pixar filmwhich will be very similar to that of its predecessor.
If the first chapter had a running time of exactly 100 minutes, Inside Out 2 will have a running time of 96 minutes and 18 seconds. What do we know about the plot of Inside Out 2? As widely anticipated in recent weeks, the film directed by Kelsey Mann will once again focus on Riley’s interiority: the girl, now 13, faces a series of changes – including moving to another city and the start of high school – and also a series of new and more complex emotions. Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment and Ennui are now added to Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust.
In a recent interview with The Wrap, the film’s director focused in particular on Ansia’s arrival on the scene: “I’m making a film about anxiety for a reason: I feel it. We all feel it, at different levels”. And then, about a potential third feature film: “The great thing is that playing with the world of the film is really fun. I can’t tell you how many ideas came to us while we were playing with this story, it happened with the first film, and certainly with the second one some great ones came up, which I put aside […]. The fact that the public wants more is really cool”. While waiting to find out whether or not a third film will be made, it has been confirmed that a spin-off series of Inside Out, entitled Dream Production, is currently in the works. Finally, let us remember that Inside Out 2 will be released in Italian cinemas on June 19th.
