Although it is difficult to maintain success, Keanu Reeves has consolidated himself as a box-office darling over the last three decades, from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure to John Wick 4. However, despite iconic characters strung together over the years, with just one film Reeves managed to reach the billion mark in box office.
You will be surprised to know that this is not one of the feature films in which the actor plays a murderer or a member of the police force but… an animated film. This is Toy Story 4, in which Reeves participates by lending his voice to the Canadian stunt man Duke Caboom.
The Matrix star was one of the new entries in the cast of the Disney/Pixar film, among the various toys that Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) encounter during their new life journey with little Bonnie (Madeleine McGraw ). Reeves manages to make his mark despite having a limited number of lines compared to other new characters. Who knows if the star will also return in the fifth film like other protagonists; Tim Allen confirmed his return to Toy Story 5 a few months ago.
Duke Caboom is based on a fictionalized version by Evel Knievel, and is one of the toys Woody encounters while trying to save Forky (Tony Hale) from Gabby Gabby (Christina Hendricks). Canada’s greatest stuntman is a friend of Bo Peep (Annie Potts), who still lives in the antique shop where Forky is held captive. There may have been a relationship between Duke and Bo, as can be seen from some lines in Caboom, Keanu Reeves’ talent is perfect for arousing jealousy in Woody’s character.
