Despite the many criticisms received since the first chapter, Venom it has however managed (unlike other Marvel Sony products) to carve out its own segment of loyalists ready to wait for the next film in the franchise. This time, however, even the latter have begun to turn up their noses a bit.
The first trailer for Venom: The Last Dance showed us a rather unexpected scene in which a character seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe makes his appearance: we are talking about Chiwetel Ejiofornamely Mordo from the Doctor Strange films, who here however appears in completely different guises.
This is where the problem arises: the scene is in fact set in the bar where Venom makes his appearance in the Post-credit scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home, and therefore within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But why, then, is the Mordo we meet not the same one we have already gotten to know?
“My head hurts after the Venom 3 trailer… This bar is in the MCU and Eddie has returned to his universe… So how could Mordo be taking the sample in that bar?” we read in one comment, while someone else added: “These two scenes make no sense” referring to the one seen in the trailer and the aforementioned post-credit of No Way Home. Will Marvel and Sony be able to give us an answer? We really hope so!
