Deadpool & Wolverine is already setting records at the box office in terms of pre-sales, and after setting the new record for 2024 it is aiming for the all-time record in the rated-r market.

As is known, in fact, Deadpool & Wolverine will be the first R-rated film from Marvel Studios, to maintain faith in the cheeky atmospheres of the two original films made by Fox before the merger with Disney, and this is just one of the many reasons why that directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is undoubtedly among the most anticipated titles of the year. And to demonstrate this, the numbers speak for themselves: the first day of Ticket sales for Deadpool & Wolverine are already record breaking.

We read in The Hollywood Reporter, in fact, that the pre-sales already bought by fans translate into approximately $8 million – $9 million in pre-sales, a record for the rated-r market to which the Marvel Cinematic Universe film belongs. Additionally, Deadline, which provided further context to these numbers, revealed that the film surpassed the 24-hour advance ticket sales of The Batman ($6.5 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ($6 million) ): the two titles ultimately earned $134 million and $118.4 million during their respective 3-day opening weekends, with Deadpool & Wolverine which should easily surpass that ceiling.

Will it be the first MCU film to surpass one billion in some time? Disney certainly hopes so, but we’ll find out from July 24th onwards. In the meantime, we’re back to discussing Deadpool & Wolverine’s much talked about post-credit scene.
