Hideo Kojima is crazy about Furiosa and considers George Miller his god

Hideo Kojima he said he was literally crazy about Furiosa: A Mad Max Storythe latest film in the Mad Max series directed by George Miller, who he considers his mentor. He said it himself on X, where he wanted to talk about the film after seeing it.

Normally Kojima has three levels of liking of films: when he doesn’t like them he simply says that he has seen them, when he likes them enough he praises them moderately and when he has loved them he starts ranting, making jokes, as in the case of the review of Dune 2 which it deserves to be read:

“Despite being a movie buff, I was starting to think it was time to start watching movies on my smartphone or tablet. However, when I saw ‘Dune: Part 2’, my rigid ways of thinking crumbled like sand! […] This film screams, ‘This is cinema!’ and provides the ‘spice’ we need to live. This masterpiece by Denis will likely become a form of ‘resistance’ that will significantly delay the spread of subscription services.”

Pure adoration

A shocked Kojima at the cinema

As we were saying, the author of the Metal Gear series without mystery considers Miller as his personal god, we imagine in a figurative sense, and his experience with Furiosa: A Mad Max Story seems to have been truly exhilarating (he participated in the first one, together with Miller himself), seeing how he wrote about it: “I saw Furiosa: A Mad Max Story”. This film, which easily surpasses “MAD” and even the past “FURY”, is at its “MAX” (masterpiece)! I saw the first film at 16, George Miller has saved me, encouraged me and changed my life countless times. He is my God, and the SAGA he tells is my Bible.”

In short, we are beyond normal praise. We would almost call it a form of real devotion, also considering what he wrote in the past about Miller, whom he called “his God” on many other occasions. For example, he told Rotten Tomatoes that he went to see Fury Road at the cinema seventeen times, and then explained that his first meeting with Miller, which occurred after leaving Konami, helped him move forward and get back into the game. Miller should even be involved in Death Stranding 2, although it is not yet known precisely in what terms.
