Serious accusation against Brad Pitt and his investment company Mondo Bongo, accused of having embezzled millions of dollars from Château Miraval, the French winery that the actor owned together with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie. An accusation that comes from the company that purchased Jolie’s shares.
In the counter-declaration presented by Tenute del Mondo Pitt is accused of causing millions of his funds to be spent on projects that benefited him personally, including more than a million dollars in renovations to a swimming pool for his exclusive use.
According to the documents, Pitt would have used the money from Château Miraval in order to fund his own side financial businesses, including a recording studio, a cosmetics line, and a gin brand. Precisely for this reason, Tenute del Mondo has requested damages from the actor for a sum of 20 million euros.
The litigation began in 2022, when Brad Pitt filed a complaint alleging that Angelina Jolie’s sale of her stake in the winery to Tenute del Mondo and parent company Stoli Group violated the couple’s agreement to discuss potential sales between them. Tenute del Mondo had in fact taken control of $20 million in equity loans that the actress had made to Château Miraval. The company claims it received no revenue from the winery’s profits as a result of the actor’s conduct.
Brad Pitt’s complaint has started the new legal dispute and now the actor will have to face the ‘counterattack’ from the new owners of the company.
