Cillian Murphy won’t be returning in 28 years later, at least not as an actor. Although the first chapter contributed significantly to his entry into the world of Hollywood, Murphy will only be the executive producer of the film. But what is the new episode of the saga about?
Hard to say, given the information regarding 28 years later there are very few. A return to the post-apocalyptic setting in which the first chapter introduced us is very likely. A world where the population is divided between survivors and infected, after a group of animal abuse protesters accidentally releases a new virus into the world while trying to free some laboratory animals. In the second episode, that is 28 weeks later, a company is presented that tries to take control of the situation and manages to impose a sort of return to normality. It is likely that the third film present such a dynamic again, perhaps introducing a new biological threat.
What we know is that in “28 Years Later” there will be 3 top-level actors such as Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes. Cillian Murphy he may return for any sequels. Various rumors indicate Nia DaCosta as a possible director of 28 Years Later, while behind the script there will certainly be the brilliant minds of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland (Currently at the cinema with Civil War). At the moment there is no information on a possible release date for the film or the trailer.
