In addition to commenting on the death of Kevin Costner in Man of Steel, the director Zack Snyder he returned to talk about his famous film dedicated to Superman with protagonist Henry Cavill to focus on one of the most famous scenes, the one in which Clark kills General Zod.

Breaking down some of his films in an interview with GQ, Snyder reiterated his stance on Superman’s use of lethal force, stating that Man of Steel purposely put Clark on the spot from this point of view: “Superman understands that General Zod will not stop. He had no intention of negotiating a truce or finding an agreement, the situation is impossible and without return: it’s about choosing between the death of Zod and the death of us humansthose are the two things at play in that scene.”

The director adds: “The film makes it quite clear that there is no middle ground. Zod says it bluntly, he will fight to the death, until he kills Superman or Superman kills him: I wanted to put Superman in an impossible situation, without a solution, because if he hadn’t been able to solve it then he would have proven to be a fake. He must not like what he did, but he had to do it anyway. He simply had no other choice.

Also in recent days, Zack Snyder spoke about the ‘Marta’ scene from Batman v Superman.
