Rebel Moon Part 2 is the lowest point of Zack Snyder’s career: the data is merciless

This time not even one will be enough director’s cut. The second part of Rebel Moonreleased on Netflix a few days ago (and of which you can read our review HERE), is being highlighted in the last few hours as the Lowest point in Zack Snyder’s careera director who is already divisive in himself but who has somehow always managed to stand out for his artistic uniqueness.

Its very stylistic features, however, seem to have made not only that indigestible Daughter of Fire but also The Scarmakeror rather the two blockbusters with which the director hoped to establish himself in the world’s attention and in the sci-fi imagination as a new great franchise Star Wars. Perhaps Netflix will allow him to move forward, but given the results we doubt he will be able to achieve his desired goals.

Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scarmaker it is in fact the Zack Snyder’s worst film according to the (dis)approval indices reported by Rotten Tomatoes a few days before the film’s release. The film, which continues the story of Kora and the warriors brought together to fight against the Mother World intent on plundering the planet Veldt of its resources, collected a paltry 17% from reviews of criticism and the 53% from the public with over 1,000 ratings arriving at the aggregator.

This is in absolute terms the worst result for the director, followed not surprisingly by Rebel Moon – Part 1: Daughter of Fire with 21% approval from critics and 58% for users. Considering only the audience, the lowest point still remains sucker Punch (22% and 47%)a film of which it is no coincidence that a different version has recently been proposed, the house specialty when things seem to be going badly.

Considering only the films he directed (and not those produced, therefore), immediately after we find Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with a 29% and 63% approval rating respectively, the first real rift between critics and the public. The distances then shortened with Justice League, Man of Steel and so on. The best for critics remains The dawn of the Living Dead (76%) followed by the director’s cut of Justice League (72%) e Army of the Dead (67%), while for the public his personal version of Justice League has a 93% approval rating and comes in ahead of 300 (89%) e The dawn of the Living Dead (77%).

In any case, it seems clear to both that this Rebel Moon is not convincing anyone other than those directly interested: will there be room to continue the story, considering how much it remained open after The Scar? Apparently there wouldn’t be many people who would be upset if the project wasn’t carried forward…
