During the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Pulp Fiction, the actor explained why during his career he returned several times to work with Quentin Tarantino, something that still excites him today: “Tarantino’s films are very different in that, yes, they are always character-driven,” Samuel L. Jackson told the Associated Press. “So when you read a Tarantino screenplay, suddenly you realize that you will have a lot of space and a lot of lines, as an actor. It’s not like in other films, when the directors just say: ‘OK, drive fast, look this way, the car is going on a curb, careful, do this, do that.’ In Tarantino’s films there are many other things that you have to embody as a character. The fact that I spent years and years in the theater helped me a lot to understand what Quentin doesand he also appreciates my style because he knows that I am used to giving long speeches”.
After working in Pulp Fiction, Samuel L. Jackson Jackson appeared in many other films by the author such as Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eightwithout forgetting the cameo in True Romance by Tony Scott, released in 1993 based on a screenplay by Tarantino.
