«I’ll say it in one breath: Amadeus leaves Rai». In his own way Fiorello on “Viva Rai 2” first reads a fake press release from Rai signed, among others by Fabrizio del Noce and Andrea Fabiano, former directors of Rai 1 in the past in which Rai stigmatizes the move of Amadeus to the so-called 3×3 network or 4+5. And then in one breath he pronounces the sentence. Making it clear that he doesn’t, he isn’t going anywhere: “I have a contract with my sofa.”
Four-year proposal from Rai for Amadeus
So far the show. But the rumors continue one after another and the outcome now seems definitive. As in all negotiations, the final word will have to come before considering everything concluded, also because Rai would be attempting the final push to keep Amadeus who, according to some sources in Viale Mazzini contacted by Sun 24 Hours would have received a particularly attractive economic proposal: «No one in the history of Rai – comments the source – has received a proposal similar to the one prepared by Roberto Sergio for Amadeus, for the next 4 years».
Meanwhile, amadeus’ activity continues. He recorded the new episodes of Affari Tuoi, the record-breaking prime time access which reached over 5.5 million viewers. And she is preparing to host “Una Quale Centomila-In Arena” on May 4th and 5th, the event with the great voices of Italian music together against violence against women in Verona, which will then be broadcast on Rai1.
Discovery Group ready to strike
Corriere della Sera reported on a meeting scheduled for next Tuesday between Amadeus and the Rai top management, in all likelihood with the general director Giampaolo Rossi, before dissolving the reservations. But all the rumors point in the direction of an acceleration. With the purse of rumors hanging for another sensational coup for the American giant which, after the agreement with Fabio Fazio, would be ready to hire the spearhead of the public TV schedule to bring it to Nove and entrust him with prime access time, his chosen band, the one on which he built his iron pact with the public. The economic aspect would not be at all indifferent. But what pushed Amadeus towards the group led in Italy by Alessandro Araimo would also be the desire to leave behind some pressure or conditioning deemed too much on Rai which – it is evident – is not a “normal” company, heavily influenced by the political debate.
