The unmistakable faces of Alberto Sordi and Gigi Proietti, but also the first step on the Moon. The historic front pages of Il Messaggero stand out on the big screen in the Cinecittà Hall of the Casa del Cinema, on the last day of the Film Impresa Award. The documentary entitled “Il Messaggero#condivisodal1878” is screened which in just a few minutes outlines the incredible story of the capital’s newspaper. In the room sit the CEO of Messaggero, Dr. Azzurra Caltagirone, with the deputy director of the newspaper Alvaro Moretti, who created the work in competition together with Dario Carrarini and Giancarlo Carlini.
Simona Anelli, general manager of the award, introduces them shortly before the viewing. «Thank you for inviting us – says Caltagirone – we tried to represent the publishing company and in particular Il Messaggero which recently celebrated its 145th anniversary. A newspaper that told the history of the country. The best news of all is that there is a company that continues to produce profits. It is the fruit of collective ingenuity. And this film you are about to see is the montage of four different films that narrate the four most salient moments: the whole history we have, how a newspaper is built, where we are going and then the first interactive acoustic video mapping project, created using our building as a backdrop, to celebrate 145 years of exploration and innovation.” «Making this video – adds Moretti – was a great opportunity to browse over 50,000 first pages in the archive. A journey, that of the video, which is also completed with the exhibition still present at the entrance to the Messaggero, which will soon become permanent. Furthermore, the title of the doc was suggested by Gigi Proietti: he told us that our newspaper has always been a social network.”
Applause from the audience, including the artistic director of the festival Mario Sesti, Daniela Brignone, who deals with business museums and Valentina Spagnuolo, director of the Wurth Museum. «It was a very intense experience – says Carrarini – shooting at Garbatella, when we said we worked for Il Messaggero, they immediately opened their doors to us. It was like being at home.” «Our collaboration with the important Roman newspaper – adds Carlini – is long-standing: enhancing the Rome newspaper with a pinch of innovation». The short films Legacoop Romagna, Engie Italia and Tirreno Power were also presented. And this evening, the awards.
