The seventh episode of Friends opens with the first heat where they clash Anna Pettinelli and Raimondo Todaro against Lorella Cuccarini and Emanuel Lo. «We need to understand how he did it», interrupts Pettinelli, but Lorella is ready: «Anna, however, you have to make me reply because you wrote the letter for her. Sarah showed how to sing, lightly and not only that, she has always done it. She interpreted the songs with the instruments that she has: she where it is written that you can only succeed with extension and with a powerful voice. If this were true, three quarters of the music you play on the radio would disgust you! Where is it written?”
Anna Pettinelli defends her student: «No one has a voice like Martina’s. Sarah made a light song throughout the winter, a pop song and that’s it, she doesn’t have Martina’s range and power. Sarah remains in her small image” and Lorella concludes with: “Anna, in my opinion, you are not doing Martina any good by behaving like this.”
The judgment of the judges
After the performance of Martina to the tune of This is me, Anna Pettinelli is moved and, at the request of Maria De Filippi, confesses: «Her true value hasn’t been recognised, it hurts me».

Giuseppe Giofrè she reiterates that she recognizes Martina’s talent, but she also noticed Sarah’s talent and really liked her interpretation. Anna Ruba says it’s a technical gauntlet. The first heat is won by Lorella Cuccarini and Emanuel Lo and Martina ends up in the run-off, at risk of elimination. Under the advice of Maria De Filippi, the singer manages to reveal what makes her so sad: «I’m sorry that every now and then the message gets across that I’m just a voice, when in reality I’m not like that. I think I’m capable of emoting and I think I’ve proven it several times. I am my voice, without it I don’t know who I am.”
Anna Pettinelli replies: «you are not just a rumor so that only the rumor could get through, you would have taken the point.
