It will probably be a very ‘boring’ weekend at the box office, as forecasts point to a new domination by the highly successful blockbuster Godzilla and Kong: The New Empirewhich will remain undefeated and stay ahead of all new weekly releases.
After the records set by Godzilla and Kong in the first weekend at the box office, the Legendary and Warner Bros. film is virtually certain to remain in first place at the box office this weekend with a take of another $35 million or morefollowed – at a long distance – by the action Monkey Man – Dev Patel’s directorial debut – and The First Omen – a prequel to the classic supernatural horror film The Omen.
Tracking suggests that it is Monkey Man and The First Omen will open between $13 million and $14 million, with the two titles that will compete for second position behind the unreachable Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire: the two titles are distributed respectively by Universal Pictures and Disney/20th Century Studios.
