Descriptive text here

In addition to the long-awaited The Black Phone 2 with Ethan Hawke, the director Scott Derrickson signed with Universal Pictures to embark on the biggest challenge of his career, the remake of one of the most acclaimed films of all time.

We are obviously talking about Death Runs on the River, also known as Night of the Hunter (original title): Universal has in fact chosen the director of Sinister and Doctor Strange to direct a new film adaptation of the acclaimed 1953 detective novel, written by Davis Grubb and previously transformed into famous 1955 thriller starring Robert Mitchum. Derrickson will write the screenplay with C. Robert Cargill, his frequent collaborator who also worked with him on Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange. Peter Gethers will produce through his KramMar Delicious Mystery Productions, and Amy Pascal will produce through her first-look deal between Pascal Pictures and Universal Pictures.

Night Runs on the River tells the story of Harry Powell, a murderous ex-convict who assumes the identity of a preacher to carry out his misdeeds. While in prison, a cellmate scheduled for execution had revealed to him that he had hidden the spoils of a robbery in his home, and once released Powell finds the widow, courts her and marries her, all in an attempt to get hold of the money. The 1955 film is considered a classic of the noir genre: was directed by Charles Laughton and also starred Shelley Winters and Lillian Gish, and in 1992 was selected for preservation in the United States National Registry.

For other readings we remind you that Scott Derrickson is also producing the sequel to Labyrinth, the famous fantasy cult starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly.

On Dungeons & Dragons – Honor Among Thieves 4K UHD It is one of today’s best sellers.
