Fulvio Gianaria, the deputy’s lawyer: “This is a true parallel process, which finds the only explanation in the surname of the citizen involved”
Fiumicino, 27 April 2024 – “A banal and unfortunate episode which would have deserved a calm investigation is being sensationally turning into a media attack, a truly parallel process whose only explanation is the known surname of the citizen involved. For this reason, in agreement with Piero Fassino, I postpone any comments until a future full reading of the documents“. This was declared by the lawyer Fulvio Gianaria, Piero Fassino’s lawyer, in this regard to the incident that occurred on April 15th in the duty free at Fiumicino airport which involves the Democratic Party deputy.
For the record, and for the protection of those under investigation, we would like to remind you that an accusation is not equivalent to a conviction, that the evidence is gathered in court and that the Italian judicial system still provides for three levels of judgement.
