A group of German tourists, including also the model and influencer Janis Dannerhas destroyed a statue of Enrico Butti in one of the period residences of Viggiù, in the province of Varese. The accident, whose damage amounts to around 200,000 euros, was reported by the villa managers who pointed the finger at the star and her friends for a video that ended badly.
Germans destroy statue
A damage first of all historical, then economic, unquantifiable. The destruction of the statue of Butti, a single piece of stone 170 cm high and attributed to the youthful phase of the Viggiutese sculptor, has in fact shocked the community.
The destruction of the sculpture was caused by the Germans on holiday at Villa Alceo, a period villa in Upper Varesotto on the border with Switzerland which often hosts celebrities from the world of entertainment, politics and music. And among the excellent guests, on Monday 31 July, there was also Janis Danner who was involved in the accident with the statue of Butti.
The accident in the video
The managers of Villa Alceo denounced the episode, pointing the finger at Danner and his friends. According to what transpires, in fact, the model-influencer with 1.5 million followers was shooting a video when, due to an unfortunate series of events, the crime took place.
The video of the surveillance cameras of the courtyard where the accident took place is also circulating on the web, images that capture the exact moment in which the statue falls and is destroyed in a thousand pieces. In fact, two men are seen embracing the fragile female icon while another films them or takes a photo, with one of the two losing balance carrying the statue with him causing it to fall to the ground.
However, a general stampede did not save the group from making a bad impression and, above all, from the huge damage that will probably have to be paid by the whole group.
The anger of the managers
Now Danner and his friends risk having to dig into their wallets, with the episode reported by the carabinieri of the Varese company who arrived at Villa Alceo to collect the complaint filed by the managers.
“We are literally shocked”, they explain from the structure, “we have been hosting international figures from the world of music and culture, diplomatic delegations and even ministers for years. Evidently not everyone is respectful of art”. Danner and his friends are facing aggravated damage charges.
